Technology

Finalist 2017 Irish Dental Awards “Best High Technology Practice”

Ballinrobe Dental is a fully computerised surgery. We utilise the latest technology including a computerised patient database, computerised digital radiography (X-Rays), airpolishers, Ti-Max LED handpieces (ultra quiet “drills”), Cavitron Ultrasonic scalers and computerised intra-oral cameras. An intra-oral camera is a very small camera, a few millimetres in size and is used to take precise pictures of your teeth and gums. This helps in diagnosis and allows us to record clear images that can be shown to you. The images can be saved on the patient’s records or can be printed for you, other specialists and for dental laboratories.

Ballinrobe Dental provides Nitrous Oxide Gas sedation for anxious patients, to further insure stress-free, comfortable dentistry.

LED Smart T.V. with wireless headphones is available in surgery for patients to view their favourite programmes and movies and enhance their comfort while we provide their dental care.

We have recently installed a Sirona XG 3D ready Panoramic O.P.G. with Cephalometrics which is the most advanced dental imaging equipment available globally.

It is a top of the range, state-of-the-art facility. This ultra modern, futuristic technology will be of great benefit to you, our patients. This technology will allow us to provide even better patient care, greater patient comfort, and more complex dental treatments such as Facial Aesthetic Treatments, Orthodontics and Dental Implants. It aids the dentist in the detection of Dental Decay, Periodontal Disease, Fractured Teeth and Bones of face, head and neck, Dental Abscess, Unerupted / Impacted teeth, Cancer of the head and neck.

Radiation exposure to our patients and staff at  is kept under constant surveillance via the computerised dosimetry service “Instadose”,  supplied by Medray Imaging Systems.

*** Did you know when you visit us for your routine check up we look at more than just your teeth

First, we thoroughly check your teeth for any cavities and use x-rays to find any hidden cavities that can't be seen be seen by just the human eye. The earlier dental cavities or holes in your teeth are detected, the less chance they will cause you pain

We check your gum health - Growing research is continuing to find that gum disease is linked to your overall general health. The earlier gum disease is detected and treated, the more successful the outcome.

Lastly, We also check for signs of ulcers, sores or lumps that if left undetected could be harmful

If you are due a check-up and wish to book an appointment, phone Nora on 094-9521000 & we'd be delighted to see you
